In a poignant account, 21-year-old Senior High School girl has courageously shared her experience of being born with HIV, inherited from her mother.
She recounted how her mother, who was unaware of her own HIV status, transmitted the virus during childbirth, a consequence of her late husband’s HIV-positive status.
Speaking in an interview, the young woman described her journey, recalling the first signs of the virus at just 12 years old.
She also expressed the emotional struggle of living with HIV, including the challenges of adhering to antiretroviral medication while battling the fear of its consequences.
