Breaking: NIB arrests former Scholarship Secretariat Registrar over alleged fraud

The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has arrested the former Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, in connection with alleged scholarship-related fraud under the administration of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Dr. Agyemang, who currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South constituency, was reportedly picked up by operatives of the investigative agency on Tuesday afternoon after failing to honour an earlier invitation for questioning.

Sources indicate that he remains in custody at the NIB headquarters in Accra, where he is assisting with ongoing investigations. At the time of filing this report, he had reached out to fellow Members of Parliament and close associates to inform them of his situation and seek support.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged infractions are yet to be fully disclosed, but the arrest marks a significant development in ongoing efforts to probe activities linked to the management of scholarship schemes during the previous administration.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
