Ghana Scholarships Authority opens applications for 2026/2027 ‘World in Serbia Scholarship’ programme

The Ghana Scholarships Authority (GSA) has announced the opening of applications for the prestigious World in Serbia Scholarship Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year, offering qualified Ghanaian students the opportunity to pursue higher education at accredited public institutions in the Republic of Serbia.

The scholarship programme forms part of ongoing international educational cooperation efforts aimed at expanding access to quality tertiary education and strengthening academic exchange between Ghana and Serbia.

According to a public announcement issued by the Ghana Scholarships Authority and signed by the Director-General, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, the programme is open to suitably qualified Ghanaian citizens who meet the academic requirements of their chosen programmes of study and satisfy all health and documentation requirements.

Applicants are also expected to be nominated through the appropriate national selection process and submit all required supporting documents as part of their application.

The Authority has outlined a comprehensive application process, beginning with the completion of an online application form. Applicants are required to submit relevant documents, including academic certificates and transcripts, a valid passport biodata page, curriculum vitae, motivational letter, medical examination report, and evidence of proficiency in the English language where applicable.

As part of the process, scanned copies of all required documents must be submitted electronically to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia. Applicants are also required to submit a complete copy of their application package to the Director-General of the Ghana Scholarships Authority in Accra.

The Ghana Scholarships Authority has advised prospective applicants to ensure that all submitted documents are complete, accurate and submitted within the stipulated timeframe, stressing that incomplete applications or submissions received after the deadline may not be considered.

The deadline for applications is June 26, 2026.

The Authority has encouraged eligible Ghanaians to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the scholarship as a valuable pathway for academic advancement, international exposure and skills development.

Interested applicants are advised to consult the official guidelines published by the Ghana Scholarships Authority on Scholarships.gov.gh for detailed information on eligibility requirements, documentation and submission procedures.
