The Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency and former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. John Abu Jinapor, has called on delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reject tribal politics and uphold national unity.
Addressing delegates in the Bantama Constituency, Hon. Jinapor stressed that Ghanaians, regardless of ethnicity or region, are one people.
He noted that Asantes and people from Northern Ghana share a long history of unity, cooperation, and mutual respect.
He urged delegates not to be influenced by tribal sentiments in their political decisions, but rather to focus on competence, vision, and the collective interest of the party and the nation.
According to him, individuals who campaign on tribal grounds demonstrate a poor understanding of Ghana’s history, emphasizing that the Northern and Southern parts of the country have historically maintained cordial and harmonious relations.
Hon. Jinapor therefore appealed to delegates in the Bantama Constituency to give Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia an emphatic endorsement, assuring them that the Savannah Region, his home region, is equally committed to offering the same overwhelming support to Dr. Bawumia.
