Nhyieaso Constituency Chairman hopeful, Michael Essel Mills, has praised the Member of Parliament for Nhyieaso, Hon. Stephen Amoah, for his continued commitment to education and community development through scholarship and technology support programmes.
Speaking at the presentation of 300 tertiary scholarships and computers to students of J.A. Kufuor Senior High School and State Experimental Basic School at the Church of God, Fankyenebra, Mr. Mills described the initiative as a practical demonstration of leadership that directly impacts the lives of constituents.
According to him, many people often question the value of voting when they do not see immediate results from elected officials. However, interventions such as scholarships and the provision of computers serve as tangible evidence of how public office can be used to improve lives, support families, and contribute to national development.
Mr. Mills noted that the programme forms part of a consistent effort by Hon. Stephen Amoah since assuming office in 2021. He indicated that similar interventions have been organized regularly over the years, reflecting the MP’s sustained focus on educational advancement within the constituency.
He further highlighted the significance of providing computers to schools, recalling that many people from earlier generations had limited access to technology during their school years. He expressed confidence that the donated computers would enhance teaching and learning while helping students acquire essential digital skills.
The chairman hopeful also encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity, stressing that such support should not be taken for granted. He observed that while the scholarships may not cover the full cost of tuition, they would provide meaningful financial relief to students and their families.
Mr. Mills commended Hon. Stephen Amoah for directing resources and opportunities toward initiatives that benefit the people of Nhyieaso, noting that not all public officials prioritize such developmental programmes for their constituents.
“Half a loaf is better than none,” he said, emphasizing that the scholarships, though not comprehensive, would make a significant difference in the lives of beneficiaries.
He concluded by applauding the MP’s contributions to the constituency and describing the scholarship and computer donation programme as another example of his dedication to the welfare and progress of the people of Nhyieaso.
