Black Stars Visit Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Pledge Support for Renovation

The Ghana national football team, the Black Stars, visited the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Tuesday, following their 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic in the World Cup qualifiers. Led by Captain Thomas Partey, the players, technical team, and management members spent time with patients, offering words of encouragement and wishing them a speedy recovery.

The visit was part of an initiative by the Asantehene to raise funds for the hospital’s renovation. The team has pledged to support the renovation of the hospital, which is the largest in the Ashanti Region. According to KATH, the team’s visit was to “throw their weight behind the Asantehene’s Ten Million United States Dollar ($10m) renovation project for the hospital.”

The Black Stars’ performance in the World Cup qualifiers has been impressive, with their recent win putting them top of Group I. The team will resume their qualifying campaign in March 2025, aiming to secure a spot in the World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
