President Mahama Used Train to Yokohama to Save Money for Ofankor Road – Morro Yakubu
A communicator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Morro Yakubu, has disclosed that President John Dramani Mahama opted to travel by train during an official visit to Yokohama, Japan, as part of efforts to cut down on expenses and channel resources into national development projects.
Speaking in an interview on Pure FM, Mr. Yakubu explained that the President’s decision was motivated by a desire to save costs for the benefit of Ghanaians. He specifically mentioned the Ofankor road project as one of the initiatives that benefited from such prudent financial management.
“President Mahama chose to use the train while in Yokohama in order to save money that could be redirected to critical projects back home, including the Ofankor road,” Mr. Yakubu stated.
He further emphasized that the gesture reflected President Mahama’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the ordinary Ghanaian, adding that the President consistently demonstrated humility and responsibility in the management of public funds.
Mr. Yakubu also urged Ghanaians to recognize and appreciate such examples of leadership, noting that they underscore the NDC’s vision of accountability and people-centered governance.
